Join Smart Farm and Chef Shawn Bork for a 8-11 course delicious, plant-based, nut-free cooking class and presentation about ways to limit food waste.
Class fee is $60/person.
Class will be held at One Life Kitchen
The Smart Farm is excited to host an evening with Chef Shawn. Shawn Bork is a plant-based chef that is focused on cooking with whole food ingredients. Early in his career, Shawn worked for an on-campus restaurant cooking Lebanese food where he developed a passion for making delicious plant-based food. Shawn has been a chef for over 9 years, cooking at many specialty restaurants and small catering events for local communities. Since Shawn has adopted a plant based diet he has overcome health issues, feels great and is excited to share some of his secrets.
Class description:
Chef Shawn provides an educational hands-on cooking demonstration, highlighting the benefits of cooking with plant based whole foods, eliminating food waste and tips on how to pick the best local produce. He will discuss the benefits of a whole food-plant based diet, proper ways of washing your produce and the practice of gratitude for the food that we eat. Other topics include: how we can reduce food waste, plastic use, best food storage practices and the benefit of buying local.

6:30- 7:20 pm: Cooking
7:30 pm: Meal Time
